“We were here; we are human beings; this is how we lived. Let it be known, the earth passed before us. Our details are important. Otherwise, if they are not, we can drop a bomb and it doesn’t matter.”
~Natalie Goldberg, Writing Down the Bones
What matters most to you? What is calling to you right now? In what ways are you seeking to be more alive and loving life?
And does it matter? Really, truly, does it matter?
Absolutely! If anything matters, it’s the fact that we are here with the opportunity to experience being alive – through the fulfillment of our work, an intimate connection, or a delicious meal. Our lives are short, and when we allow ourselves to feel that everything truly does matter – every moment of your life and mine – we can become empowered to create more than we dreamed possible. Only we can take responsibility for creating what we are called to create. We have the opportunity to lead deeply fulfilling lives that are a gift to our world. It matters for you and I, for those around us, and it matters for humanity.
It is not always clear how to live this way, yet it’s a challenge worth taking on. It’s not a path with an endpoint, and one can begin anywhere. Becoming empowered in how I am called to live has certainly not been easy, yet today I feel so clear and am so genuinely grateful for every moment that I know without question all of the work has been worth it. Now I am doing work I love, having deeply meaningful relationships, and I have great trust in myself and life; what gifts!
I’ve paid close attention to the specific challenges I’ve faced and what has allowed me to overcome them. In particular, I have learned the most from the wisdom of the women around me – my friends, family, clients, and teachers. We have so much to offer one another!
My intention in writing this blog is to intimately share both my own learning, and that of other incredible women who are also working with the gifts and challenges of feminine embodiment. I will offer new ways to tune into and hone the wisdom of your voice, as well as art, poetry, and stories to inspire you.
I sincerely welcome your comments, questions and the stories you share. This is a place for us all to develop our voices. I truly hope that you will join this conversation.
